Hydrogen Sulfide, the toxic, flammable and corrosive gas, is inherently contained in raw gas and varies by field. It can cause corrosion on the pipeline, container and lead to potentially fatal leaks or explosions if ignited. H2S level is also the key to determine natural gas quality. Removing H2S at all stages is of crucial importance as to protect pipeline, gas storage equipment and ensure safety.
Lead acetate tape is the traditional technology used in H2S measurement. As a discontinuous measuring method, its accuracy relies heavily on the chemical reaction with the tape. While large errors may arise due to fading of the color of the precipitated lead sulfide spots. The tape and reagent should be replaced frequently thus leads to heavy maintenance. Alternatively, UV analyzer used in H2S measuring is limited by its light source. Due to its intrinsic feature, the UV light has interference with background gas and has limitation in low concentration H2S measuring.
In meeting these challenges, FPI provides H2S trace analyzer employing TDL technology. Its rugged nature and compact design reveals its benefits in less maintenance and the differential spectroscopy highlights its capability in eliminating background interference. With integrated Herriott cell, the multiple reflection of the light path ensures low level H2S analysis.
